Major Leadership Changes Announced in Pakistan’s Armed Forces

In a significant reshuffle within Pakistan’s military ranks, several high-profile appointments have been announced:

  1. Major General Mehr Umar Khan Niazi has been appointed as the Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IG FC) KP (South), tasked with overseeing security and operational matters in the region.
  2. Major General Anjum Riaz will now serve as the Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IG FC) KP (North), focusing on the northern areas and enhancing border security.
  3. Major General Adil Rahmani has been named Director General of Sports & Fitness, where he will be responsible for advancing sports initiatives and fitness programs across the armed forces.
  4. Major General Jawad is the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Special Services Group (SSG), Pakistan’s elite special operations force, tasked with leading and directing critical missions.
  5. Major General Noor Wali has been appointed as the Director General of the Military Research Centre (DG MRC) at Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), overseeing key research and intelligence operations.
  6. Major General Haroon Hameed will assume the role of Director General Administration at Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), managing administrative functions and strategic communications.

These appointments reflect a strategic realignment within Pakistan’s military establishment, aimed at strengthening operational capabilities and enhancing strategic oversight across key areas.
