Massive Heroin Seizure Along India–Pakistan Border in Sri Ganganagar, Drone-Based Smuggling Network Busted, Three Arrested
A Major Anti-Narcotics Breakthrough in Rajasthan’s Border Belt
In a significant breakthrough against cross-border narco-terrorism, Rajasthan Police have recovered a huge consignment of heroin worth over ₹20 crore near the India–Pakistan international border in Sri Ganganagar district. The operation, carried out by Rawla police station, exposed yet another instance of Pakistan-based drug smuggling syndicates using drone technology to infiltrate Indian territory. The seizure of 4.88 kilograms of high-grade heroin, along with a DJI-manufactured drone, has once again highlighted the growing challenge of aerial drug trafficking along the western frontier.
Suspicious Movement Near Canal Led to High-Value Recovery
According to police officials, the recovery was made on January 1 when a Rawla police team was conducting routine border-area patrolling. Near the 15 KND culvert along a canal, close to the international border, three young men were spotted moving suspiciously with a plastic sack. On noticing the police vehicle, the suspects attempted to flee, raising immediate suspicion. The police swiftly cordoned off the area and apprehended all three individuals after a brief chase. Their inability to give satisfactory answers during preliminary questioning prompted a detailed search.
Heroin and Drone Recovered During On-the-Spot Search
During the search operation, police recovered a total of 4 kilograms and 88 grams of heroin from the possession of the three accused. Along with the narcotics, a DJI company drone was also seized from a plastic bag, indicating that the consignment had been transported from Pakistan into Indian territory through aerial means. Preliminary investigation confirmed that the heroin was dropped across the border using the drone, reinforcing concerns over the increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles by drug cartels.
Accused Identified, Individual Recoveries Established
The arrested individuals have been identified as Jagandeep Singh alias Labbu Singh (26), a resident of Chak 10 K in Anupgarh; Neetu Singh alias Ravneet Singh (21), a resident of Dabli Rathan in Hanumangarh district; and Satpal Singh (27), a resident of Chak 04 STR in Ghadsana. Police disclosed that 1019 grams of heroin were recovered from Jagandeep Singh, 2048 grams from Neetu Singh, and 1021 grams from Satpal Singh. The drone used for smuggling was found in Satpal Singh’s possession, establishing his direct role in handling the aerial delivery.
International Drug Syndicates and Cross-Border Nexus Under Scanner
Investigators believe that the seized heroin is part of a larger Pakistan-based smuggling network that operates along the Rajasthan and Punjab border sectors. The use of drones has emerged as a preferred method to bypass physical fencing and border patrols. Security agencies suspect that handlers across the border coordinate precise GPS-based drops, which are then collected by local operatives on the Indian side. The accused are currently being interrogated to identify their handlers, payment channels, and possible links with organized crime or terror financing networks.
NDPS Act Invoked, Intensive Interrogation Underway
A case has been registered against all three accused under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Senior police officers have confirmed that intensive questioning is underway to trace the supply chain, previous deliveries, and intended distribution routes within India. Officials are also probing whether similar consignments have been successfully delivered in the past using the same drone network.
Security Agencies on High Alert Amid Rising Drone Threat
The recovery of such a large quantity of heroin has put security agencies on high alert across the border districts of Rajasthan. With repeated incidents of drone-based smuggling being reported from Punjab and now Rajasthan, border surveillance mechanisms are being reviewed and strengthened. Enhanced night patrolling, deployment of anti-drone systems, and closer coordination between police, BSF, and intelligence agencies are being prioritized to counter this evolving threat.
Bigger Revelations Expected as Investigation Progresses
Police officials have indicated that the arrest of the three accused could lead to major revelations regarding cross-border narco-trafficking operations. As interrogation progresses, authorities expect to uncover deeper layers of the network, including financiers, logistics handlers, and possible international links. The seizure is being seen as a critical success in disrupting drug supply lines that pose serious threats to national security, youth, and social stability.

राजस्थान के सीमावर्ती इलाके में नशे के खिलाफ बड़ी कार्रवाई
राजस्थान के श्रीगंगानगर जिले में भारत–पाकिस्तान अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा के पास पुलिस ने नशे के खिलाफ एक बड़ी सफलता हासिल की है। रावला थाना पुलिस ने पाकिस्तान से ड्रोन के जरिए भारत लाई गई 4 किलो 88 ग्राम हेरोइन बरामद की है, जिसकी अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में कीमत 20 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक आंकी जा रही है। इस कार्रवाई में DJI कंपनी का एक ड्रोन भी जब्त किया गया है, जिससे यह साफ हो गया है कि सीमा पार से ड्रोन के जरिए मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी की जा रही थी।
नहर किनारे संदिग्ध गतिविधि से खुला तस्करी का राज
पुलिस के अनुसार, 1 जनवरी को रावला थाना पुलिस की टीम सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र में गश्त कर रही थी। इसी दौरान 15 KND पुलिया के पास नहर किनारे तीन युवक संदिग्ध हालत में एक प्लास्टिक का कट्टा लेकर घूमते नजर आए। पुलिस वाहन को देखते ही वे घबराकर भागने की कोशिश करने लगे। पुलिस ने तत्परता दिखाते हुए घेराबंदी कर तीनों को मौके पर ही पकड़ लिया। प्रारंभिक पूछताछ में संतोषजनक जवाब नहीं मिलने पर तलाशी ली गई।
तलाशी में भारी मात्रा में हेरोइन और ड्रोन बरामद
तलाशी के दौरान पुलिस को तीनों आरोपियों के पास से कुल 4 किलो 88 ग्राम हेरोइन मिली। इसके साथ ही एक DJI कंपनी का ड्रोन भी बरामद हुआ, जिससे यह पुष्टि हुई कि यह नशीला पदार्थ पाकिस्तान से ड्रोन के माध्यम से भारत लाया गया था। जांच में सामने आया कि ड्रोन के जरिए सीमा पार से खेप गिराई गई थी, जिसे लेने के लिए आरोपी वहां पहुंचे थे।

गिरफ्तार आरोपियों की पहचान जगनदीप सिंह उर्फ लब्बू सिंह (26), निवासी चक 10 K, अनूपगढ़; नीटू सिंह उर्फ रवनीत सिंह (21), निवासी डबली राठान, हनुमानगढ़; और सतपाल सिंह (27), निवासी चक 04 एसटीआर, घड़साना के रूप में हुई है। पुलिस के अनुसार, जगनदीप सिंह के पास से 1019 ग्राम, नीटू सिंह के पास से 2048 ग्राम और सतपाल सिंह के पास से 1021 ग्राम हेरोइन बरामद की गई। ड्रोन सतपाल सिंह के प्लास्टिक बैग से मिला, जिससे उसकी सक्रिय भूमिका स्पष्ट होती है।
पाकिस्तान से संचालित तस्करी नेटवर्क की आशंका
पुलिस और सुरक्षा एजेंसियों को शक है कि यह खेप पाकिस्तान स्थित ड्रग सिंडिकेट द्वारा भेजी गई थी, जो राजस्थान और पंजाब सीमा पर ड्रोन के जरिए नशे की सप्लाई कर रहे हैं। आधुनिक ड्रोन तकनीक का इस्तेमाल कर तस्कर सीमा पर लगी बाड़ और निगरानी से बचने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। प्रारंभिक जांच में यह भी संकेत मिले हैं कि इस नेटवर्क के तार बड़े अंतरराष्ट्रीय गिरोहों से जुड़े हो सकते हैं।
NDPS एक्ट में मामला दर्ज, गहन पूछताछ जारी
तीनों आरोपियों के खिलाफ एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है। पुलिस उनसे गहन पूछताछ कर रही है ताकि यह पता लगाया जा सके कि इस गिरोह के पीछे कौन लोग हैं, पैसे का लेन-देन कैसे होता है और इससे पहले कितनी खेपें भारत लाई जा चुकी हैं। जांच एजेंसियां यह भी खंगाल रही हैं कि क्या इस नशे की कमाई का इस्तेमाल किसी आतंकी गतिविधि में तो नहीं किया जा रहा।
ड्रोन तस्करी के बढ़ते खतरे से सुरक्षा एजेंसियां सतर्क
इतनी बड़ी मात्रा में हेरोइन की बरामदगी के बाद सीमा पर तैनात सुरक्षा एजेंसियां पूरी तरह अलर्ट मोड में आ गई हैं। ड्रोन के जरिए हो रही तस्करी को देखते हुए सीमा पर निगरानी और तकनीकी उपायों को और मजबूत किया जा रहा है। पुलिस, बीएसएफ और खुफिया एजेंसियों के बीच समन्वय बढ़ाया गया है ताकि भविष्य में ऐसी कोशिशों को नाकाम किया जा सके।
आगे और बड़े खुलासों की उम्मीद
पुलिस अधिकारियों का कहना है कि इस मामले में आगे और बड़े खुलासे हो सकते हैं। पूछताछ के दौरान तस्करी के पूरे नेटवर्क, सीमा पार हैंडलरों और भारत में सप्लाई चैन से जुड़े अहम सुराग मिलने की संभावना है। यह कार्रवाई न केवल नशे के खिलाफ एक बड़ी सफलता है, बल्कि सीमा सुरक्षा और राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के लिहाज से भी बेहद अहम मानी जा रही है।
