Mrs Ashima Malhotra Assumes Charge as 15th Regional President of AWWA, South Western Command
Reaffirms Commitment to Empowering Army Families with Compassion, Self-Reliance and Welfare-Oriented Initiatives

A significant leadership transition took place within the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) as Mrs Ashima Malhotra officially assumed charge as the 15th Regional President of AWWA, South Western Command, headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Her appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for one of the Indian Army’s most respected welfare organizations, which has been dedicated for decades to improving the lives of soldiers’ families, widows, children, and dependents.
On assuming office, Mrs Ashima Malhotra conveyed her heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all AWWA beneficiaries spread across the vast jurisdiction of the South Western Command. She reaffirmed her commitment to the organization’s guiding vision, “Empowering Families, Enabling Self-Reliance,” emphasizing that the welfare of Army families remains central to AWWA’s mission.
In her message, she highlighted that AWWA has always served as a pillar of strength for the families of Indian Army personnel, particularly during challenging circumstances arising from operational deployments and field tenures. She stated that with dedication, compassion, and unwavering determination, she looks forward to further strengthening the AWWA family by promoting welfare, education, healthcare, skill development, financial independence, and community support.
Mrs Ashima Malhotra underlined that the organization would continue working towards creating opportunities that enable Army families to become self-reliant while ensuring that widows, children, specially-abled dependents, and veterans’ families receive sustained care and assistance. She stressed that empowering families ultimately contributes to enhancing the morale and operational effectiveness of serving soldiers.
The Army Wives Welfare Association has consistently played a crucial role in supporting military families through vocational training, educational scholarships, healthcare initiatives, counselling services, entrepreneurship programs, and rehabilitation efforts. Across commands, AWWA acts as a bridge between welfare requirements and institutional support, ensuring that the well-being of Army families remains a priority.
As the new Regional President of AWWA, South Western Command, Mrs Ashima Malhotra is expected to lead numerous welfare initiatives across Rajasthan and other areas under the command. Her leadership is anticipated to further strengthen ongoing programs while introducing innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life of Army families.
Her assumption of office reflects AWWA’s continued commitment to compassion, inclusivity, and empowerment, reinforcing the organization’s enduring role in standing alongside the families of the Indian Army. दक्षिण पश्चिम कमान की 15वीं क्षेत्रीय अध्यक्ष बनीं श्रीमती आशिमा मल्होत्रा
AWWA के नए नेतृत्व ने सैनिक परिवारों के सशक्तिकरण, आत्मनिर्भरता और समग्र कल्याण के लिए दोहराई प्रतिबद्धता

भारतीय सेना के परिवारों के कल्याण के लिए कार्य करने वाले प्रतिष्ठित संगठन आर्मी वाइव्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन (AWWA) में नेतृत्व परिवर्तन के तहत श्रीमती आशिमा मल्होत्रा ने जयपुर स्थित दक्षिण पश्चिम कमान (South Western Command) की 15वीं क्षेत्रीय अध्यक्ष का कार्यभार आधिकारिक रूप से संभाल लिया है। उनके पदभार ग्रहण करने के साथ ही AWWA के कल्याणकारी मिशन को नई दिशा और नई ऊर्जा मिलने की उम्मीद जताई जा रही है।
कार्यभार संभालने के बाद श्रीमती आशिमा मल्होत्रा ने दक्षिण पश्चिम कमान के अंतर्गत आने वाले सभी AWWA लाभार्थियों, सैनिक परिवारों, वीर नारियों तथा बच्चों को हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ दीं। उन्होंने संगठन के मूल मंत्र “Empowering Families, Enabling Self-Reliance” (परिवारों को सशक्त बनाना, आत्मनिर्भरता को बढ़ावा देना) के प्रति अपनी पूर्ण निष्ठा दोहराते हुए कहा कि सैनिक परिवारों का कल्याण उनकी सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता रहेगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय सेना के जवान देश की सीमाओं पर कठिन परिस्थितियों में अपनी जिम्मेदारियों का निर्वहन करते हैं और ऐसे समय में उनके परिवारों को सहयोग, सुरक्षा तथा आत्मनिर्भर बनाने में AWWA की भूमिका अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने विश्वास व्यक्त किया कि समर्पण, संवेदनशीलता और अटूट संकल्प के साथ वह AWWA परिवार को और अधिक मजबूत, सक्षम तथा आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के लिए निरंतर कार्य करेंगी।
श्रीमती आशिमा मल्होत्रा ने कहा कि संगठन भविष्य में भी सैनिक परिवारों के लिए शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, कौशल विकास, स्वरोजगार, महिला सशक्तिकरण, आर्थिक आत्मनिर्भरता तथा सामाजिक सहयोग से जुड़े कार्यक्रमों को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाएगा। उन्होंने विशेष रूप से वीर नारियों, पूर्व सैनिकों के परिवारों, विशेष आवश्यकता वाले बच्चों तथा सैनिक परिवारों के समग्र विकास को प्राथमिकता देने की बात कही।
आर्मी वाइव्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन वर्षों से भारतीय सेना के परिवारों के लिए एक मजबूत सामाजिक और मानवीय सहयोग तंत्र के रूप में कार्य करता रहा है। संगठन व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण, छात्रवृत्ति, स्वास्थ्य सेवाएँ, परामर्श, महिला उद्यमिता, पुनर्वास और सामुदायिक विकास जैसे अनेक क्षेत्रों में उल्लेखनीय योगदान देता रहा है।
दक्षिण पश्चिम कमान की नई क्षेत्रीय अध्यक्ष के रूप में श्रीमती आशिमा मल्होत्रा से अपेक्षा की जा रही है कि उनके नेतृत्व में राजस्थान सहित कमान के सभी क्षेत्रों में AWWA की विभिन्न कल्याणकारी योजनाओं को नई गति मिलेगी तथा सैनिक परिवारों के जीवन स्तर को बेहतर बनाने के लिए कई नए कार्यक्रम शुरू किए जाएंगे।
उनका कार्यभार ग्रहण करना केवल एक प्रशासनिक परिवर्तन नहीं बल्कि भारतीय सेना के परिवारों के प्रति सेवा, संवेदनशीलता, आत्मनिर्भरता और सामाजिक सशक्तिकरण की उस परंपरा को आगे बढ़ाने का महत्वपूर्ण कदम है, जिसके लिए AWWA पूरे देश में सम्मानित और विश्वसनीय संस्था के रूप में जानी जाती है।
