Mrs Komal Seth Assumes Charge as 25th President of AWWA, Reaffirms Commitment to ‘Asha, Vishwas, Aastha’

A new chapter has begun in the journey of the Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) as Mrs Komal Seth officially assumed charge as the 25th President of AWWA. Taking over the responsibility of one of the Indian Army’s most significant welfare organisations, she reaffirmed her commitment to carrying forward AWWA’s legacy of compassion, service, and empowerment while working for the welfare of soldiers’ families, veterans’ dependents, widows, children, and beneficiaries across the country.
Upon assuming office, Mrs Komal Seth expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her predecessor, Mrs Sunita Dwivedi, as well as all former AWWA Presidents whose vision, leadership, dedication, and tireless efforts have transformed AWWA into a pillar of support for the Indian Army fraternity. She acknowledged that every previous President has strengthened the organisation through innovative welfare initiatives, educational programmes, healthcare support, vocational training, financial assistance, and community outreach.
Mrs Komal Seth emphasized that it is an honour and a privilege to lead an organisation that has remained committed to serving the extended family of the Indian Army for decades. She noted that AWWA has consistently stood beside Army families during both peace and conflict, ensuring that the welfare of spouses, children, veer naris, and dependents remains a national priority.
Addressing AWWA beneficiaries, Mrs Komal Seth extended her warm wishes and assured them that their welfare, dignity, and empowerment would remain at the heart of every initiative undertaken during her tenure. She reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the organisation’s guiding motto—“Asha, Vishwas, Aastha” (Hope, Trust and Faith)—which has long symbolised AWWA’s mission of providing hope, confidence, and unwavering support to Army families.
She further stated that her journey as President would be guided by dedication, compassion, inclusivity, and a firm resolve to strengthen every welfare programme that directly impacts the lives of military families. She stressed the importance of expanding opportunities for education, skill development, women’s empowerment, healthcare awareness, mental well-being, and social support networks for Army families stationed across diverse operational environments.
Over the decades, AWWA has evolved into one of India’s largest voluntary welfare organisations, working alongside the Indian Army to improve the quality of life of soldiers’ families through scholarships, hostels, vocational training centres, financial assistance schemes, rehabilitation programmes, counselling services, and numerous community welfare initiatives. The organisation continues to play a vital role in ensuring that the families of serving soldiers and veterans receive meaningful support throughout every stage of military life.
Mrs Komal Seth’s appointment comes at a time when the Indian Army continues to place increasing emphasis on holistic family welfare alongside operational excellence. Her leadership is expected to build upon AWWA’s rich legacy while introducing fresh initiatives aimed at empowering women, supporting children, strengthening community resilience, and enhancing the overall welfare ecosystem for the Army fraternity.
Her assumption of office marks not merely a change in leadership but the continuation of a tradition rooted in service, empathy, and nation-building through the welfare of those who stand behind India’s soldiers.

AWWA की 25वीं अध्यक्ष बनीं श्रीमती कोमल सेठ, ‘आशा, विश्वास, आस्था’ के संकल्प के साथ सैनिक परिवारों के सशक्तिकरण का लिया दायित्व

भारतीय सेना के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण सामाजिक एवं कल्याणकारी संगठनों में से एक आर्मी वाइव्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन (AWWA) को नया नेतृत्व मिल गया है। श्रीमती कोमल सेठ ने आधिकारिक रूप से AWWA की 25वीं अध्यक्ष के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने संगठन की गौरवशाली परंपराओं को आगे बढ़ाने, सैनिक परिवारों के कल्याण को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता देने तथा सेवा, संवेदनशीलता और समर्पण की भावना के साथ कार्य करने का संकल्प दोहराया।
पदभार ग्रहण करने के बाद श्रीमती कोमल सेठ ने अपनी पूर्ववर्ती अध्यक्ष श्रीमती सुनीता द्विवेदी तथा AWWA की सभी पूर्व अध्यक्षों के प्रति हार्दिक आभार व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने कहा कि संगठन को आज जिस मजबूत पहचान और विश्वसनीयता के साथ जाना जाता है, वह पूर्व अध्यक्षों की दूरदर्शिता, नेतृत्व, अथक परिश्रम और सैनिक परिवारों के प्रति समर्पण का परिणाम है। उन्होंने शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, स्वरोजगार, महिला सशक्तिकरण, वीर नारियों के पुनर्वास, बच्चों के भविष्य और सैनिक परिवारों के सामाजिक उत्थान के लिए किए गए उनके योगदान की सराहना की।
उन्होंने कहा कि AWWA केवल एक संगठन नहीं बल्कि भारतीय सेना के विस्तृत परिवार का भावनात्मक आधार है, जिसने दशकों से सैनिकों के परिवारों, वीर नारियों, बच्चों और आश्रितों के जीवन में आशा और विश्वास का संचार किया है। सीमाओं पर तैनात सैनिक निश्चिंत होकर अपने कर्तव्यों का निर्वहन कर सकें, इसके लिए उनके परिवारों का मजबूत सामाजिक और भावनात्मक सहयोग अत्यंत आवश्यक है और AWWA इसी उद्देश्य को समर्पित है।
अपने संबोधन में श्रीमती कोमल सेठ ने सभी AWWA लाभार्थियों को शुभकामनाएं देते हुए भरोसा दिलाया कि संगठन की प्रत्येक योजना और पहल का केंद्र सैनिक परिवारों का सम्मान, सुरक्षा, आत्मनिर्भरता और समग्र विकास होगा। उन्होंने संगठन के मूल मंत्र “आशा, विश्वास, आस्था” को दोहराते हुए कहा कि यही मूल्य उनके कार्यकाल की दिशा तय करेंगे और इन्हीं सिद्धांतों के आधार पर वे प्रत्येक सैनिक परिवार तक सहायता, संवेदना और सशक्तिकरण पहुंचाने का प्रयास करेंगी।
उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि उनके नेतृत्व में शिक्षा, कौशल विकास, महिलाओं की आर्थिक आत्मनिर्भरता, मानसिक स्वास्थ्य जागरूकता, बच्चों के भविष्य, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं, सामुदायिक सहयोग और सामाजिक सुरक्षा से जुड़े कार्यक्रमों को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाया जाएगा। उनका उद्देश्य AWWA को आधुनिक आवश्यकताओं के अनुरूप और अधिक सशक्त बनाते हुए प्रत्येक सैनिक परिवार तक उसकी पहुंच सुनिश्चित करना है।
दशकों से AWWA भारतीय सेना के साथ मिलकर छात्रवृत्तियों, व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण, छात्रावासों, स्वास्थ्य सहायता, पुनर्वास योजनाओं, आर्थिक सहयोग, परामर्श सेवाओं तथा अनेक सामाजिक कल्याण कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से लाखों सैनिक परिवारों के जीवन को बेहतर बनाने का कार्य कर रहा है। यह संगठन केवल सहायता प्रदान करने तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि आत्मनिर्भरता, सम्मान और सामाजिक सशक्तिकरण का भी एक सशक्त माध्यम बन चुका है।
श्रीमती कोमल सेठ का कार्यभार ग्रहण करना केवल नेतृत्व परिवर्तन नहीं, बल्कि भारतीय सेना के उस मानवीय पक्ष की निरंतरता का प्रतीक है जो अपने सैनिकों के साथ-साथ उनके परिवारों के कल्याण को भी समान महत्व देता है। उनके नेतृत्व में AWWA से सैनिक परिवारों के हित में नई पहल, व्यापक कल्याणकारी कार्यक्रम और महिलाओं तथा बच्चों के सशक्तिकरण की दिशा में और अधिक प्रभावी प्रयासों की अपेक्षा की जा रही है।
