Ms. Ranjeeta Sahay Ashesh Appointed Secretary for Poetry & Fashion in Pythian Council of India’s Executive Board
New Delhi, April 5, 2025 – In a significant step towards empowering diverse forms of arts and traditional games, the Pythian Council of India has announced its newly constituted executive board, marking a major development ahead of the much-anticipated 1st Global Pythonova Games 2025.
These games, conceptualized for differently-abled artists and players, are envisioned to be a global platform celebrating inclusion, creativity, and cultural expression. The announcement was made under the guidance of Mr. Bijender Goel, Founder of the Modern Pythian Games, Managing Trustee of the Delphic India Trust, and Secretary-General of the International Pythian Council.
Among the newly appointed office-bearers is Ms. Ranjeeta Sahay Ashesh, who has been entrusted with the dual domain of Poetry and Fashion. Representing Uttar Pradesh, Ms. Ashesh brings a unique blend of literary flair and artistic sensibility to the board. Her appointment underscores the Pythian Council’s commitment to integrating diverse forms of expression, including contemporary and classical art forms.
Towards Inclusive Global Celebration of Art and Games
The 1st Global Pythonova Games, to be hosted by India, will feature competitions and performances in both traditional sports and various art domains such as poetry, music, yoga, painting, fashion, e-sports, and more. It stands as a global confluence of ancient and modern cultures with a strong focus on disability inclusion and accessibility.
The newly appointed Executive Board features a multi-disciplinary team comprising bureaucrats, senior civil servants, artists, and experts from across all Indian states. Their collective efforts are aimed at not only ensuring a successful edition of the 2025 Games but also at institutionalizing the values of art, heritage, and inclusive participation.
Key National Appointments Include:
- Advisors such as A.K. Hek (Meghalaya), R.K. Srivastava (Delhi), B.H. Anil Kumar (Karnataka), and Sahil Seth (IRS, Delhi), among others.
- Vice Presidents from Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Delhi, including IPS and IAS officers.
- General Secretaries for Arts, Sports, Para Games, and Cricket.
- Domain Secretaries for Adventure Games, Yoga, Water Sports, Social Arts, Musical Chairs, and Poetry & Fashion – showcasing the wide spectrum of representation.
The council also features a vibrant team for IT, Media, Coordination, Marketing, Education, Investments, and State-specific responsibilities.
Building a Cultural Legacy
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bijender Goel emphasized that Modern Pythian Games are the 21st-century cultural alternative to the Olympic Games. “Just as the Olympics celebrates physical excellence, the Modern Pythian Games celebrate the soul of civilization—its arts and culture,” he said.

नई दिल्ली, 5 अप्रैल 2025 – भारत में पहली बार आयोजित होने जा रहे ग्लोबल पायथोनोवा गेम्स 2025 की तैयारियों को सशक्त करते हुए पायथियन काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया ने अपने नए कार्यकारी बोर्ड की घोषणा कर दी है। यह आयोजन दिव्यांग कलाकारों और पारंपरिक खेलों के खिलाड़ियों के लिए समर्पित है, जो समावेशिता और रचनात्मकता का वैश्विक मंच बनेगा।
इस परिषद का नेतृत्व कर रहे हैं श्री बिजेन्द्र गोयल, जो मॉडर्न पायथियन गेम्स के संस्थापक, डेल्फिक इंडिया ट्रस्ट के मैनेजिंग ट्रस्टी, और इंटरनेशनल पायथियन काउंसिल के महासचिव हैं।
इस नई कार्यकारिणी में उत्तर प्रदेश की प्रतिनिधि सुश्री रणजीता सहाय अशेष को ‘कविता एवं फैशन’ डोमेन सचिव के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है। यह नियुक्ति दर्शाती है कि परिषद परंपरागत और समकालीन कला रूपों को समान महत्व देने के सिद्धांत पर काम कर रही है।

- सलाहकारों में शामिल हैं – ए. के. हेग (मेघालय), आर. के. श्रीवास्तव (दिल्ली), बी. एच. अनिल कुमार (कर्नाटक), साहिल सेठ (आईआरएस, दिल्ली) आदि।
- उपाध्यक्ष पदों पर आईएएस, आईपीएस और विभिन्न राज्यों के प्रतिनिधि नियुक्त किए गए हैं।
- ‘आर्ट्स’, ‘स्पोर्ट्स’, ‘पैरा गेम्स’ और ‘क्रिकेट’ के लिए जनरल सेक्रेटरीज।
- अलग-अलग क्षेत्रों जैसे – एडवेंचर गेम्स, योग, जलक्रीड़ा, सोशल आर्ट्स, म्यूजिकल चेयर्स, कविता और फैशन के लिए विशिष्ट सचिव।
इस कार्यकारी दल में आईटी, मीडिया, मार्केटिंग, शिक्षा, समन्वय, निवेश और राज्य विशेष प्रतिनिधित्व की भी पूर्ण व्यवस्था की गई है।

श्री बिजेन्द्र गोयल ने कहा कि “मॉडर्न पायथियन गेम्स, ओलंपिक खेलों का सांस्कृतिक विकल्प हैं। जैसे ओलंपिक शारीरिक उत्कृष्टता का उत्सव है, वैसे ही पायथियन गेम्स सभ्यता की आत्मा – कला एवं संस्कृति – का उत्सव हैं।”
