Munitions India Ltd., a Government of India Enterprise, Hosted MSME Conclave 2024 Boosting Atmanirbhar Bharat in Defence Production

Pune, India, January 30, 2024 – Munitions India Ltd. (MIL), a Government of India Enterprise, successfully hosted the MSME Conclave 2024 at the Auto Cluster, Chinchwad, Pune, aligning with the Government of India’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives. Shri Ravi Kant, IOFS, CMD of Munitions India Ltd., graced the occasion alongside senior IOFS officers, DRDO scientists, senior officials from various defence establishments & industry experts.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by CMD Shri Ravi Kant & other dignitaries, symbolizing the illuminating path towards self-reliance in defence production. CMD Shri Ravi Kant expressed optimism about the conclave’s potential to strengthen India’s defence capabilities. He emphasized the importance of collaborating with MSMEs and reiterated the vision of achieving Atmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector.
The conclave featured key highlights, including a Technology Transfer Session by DRDO, where experts shared insights into advanced technologies, fostering collaboration between DRDO & MSMEs. An exhibition by MIL factories showcased indigenously developed defence products, emphasizing India’s progress towards self-reliance. Additionally, a dedicated session on the SRIJAN Portal promoted innovation within the defence manufacturing sector.
The event proved to be a success with the active participation of 30+ vendors displaying their manufacturing capabilities. Numerous MSMEs & non-MSME firms attended, gaining insights from lectures given by dignitaries who are experts in their domains.
Shri Sanjay Hazari, General Manager of Ammunition Factory Khadki (AFK), Pune stated that “The prospects of India’s defence production are promising, driven by the active participation and enthusiasm displayed by MSMEs in this conclave. The vibrant exchange of ideas, the insightful lectures from dignitaries, and the collaborative spirit on display today reinforce our collective vision of a self-reliant India.”
