NCC Cadets Triumphantly Complete Mt Kang Yatse-II Expedition, Celebrated in New Delhi

Mountaineering expeditions are a critical part of the NCC’s adventure training curriculum, aiming to build spirit, camaraderie, and perseverance among cadets.

Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth proudly flagged in the NCC Girl and Boy cadets’ expedition team at a ceremony in New Delhi on July 3, 2024, following their successful ascent of Mt Kang Yatse-II in Ladakh. As the chief guest at the event, Shri Seth commended the cadets for their exceptional achievement amidst challenging conditions, including adverse weather.

The team, consisting of 27 cadets, 5 officers, and 17 permanent instructors, conquered the 6,250-meter peak on June 21, 2024, demonstrating remarkable resilience and teamwork. The expedition, marked by severe high-altitude conditions, heavy snowfall, strong winds, and low temperatures, tested the cadets’ endurance and commitment. Their success was facilitated by rigorous training, careful acclimatization, and dedicated medical support.

In his address, Shri Seth highlighted the expedition’s role in instilling values of leadership, resilience, and teamwork. He also referenced a speech by the Prime Minister at the 2022 NCC Rally, emphasizing how NCC training prepares cadets for significant national responsibilities.
