NCC CONDUCTS WORKSHOP ON “CAREER IN ARMED FORCES & MERHCANT NAVY” AT DIMAPUR

No-1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC conducted a one day career counseling seminar, on 08 February 2024, at the Eastern Christian College, Dimapur. The seminar was conducted by the Army Recruitment Office, Dimapur Nagaland and Synergy Maritime Private Limited.

The seminar covered the ‘Career In Armed Forces & Merchant Navy’ in detail giving out various modes of entry, recruitment policies, prerequisites, terms of employment and career progressions.

Director, Army Recruitment Office, Rangapahar Military Station, Nagaland highlighted the a variety of entry at different levels and also the latest recruitment policy. Whereas, Brigadier ShreeKumar (Retd), alongwith the resource persons from Merchant Navy deliberated upon the oppertunites in Merchant Navy.

The event has been conducted under the aegis of NCC Group HQs, Kohima. The idea of spreading awareness and motivate the young students to join the Indian Armed Forces as well as explore the seas by joining the Merchant Navy. Over 500 cadets from various affiliated institutions of Dimapur, attended the event, besides teaching faculty of Eastern Christian College and Associated NCC Officers.

A detailed class on “Career in Armed Forces” was taken by the, Medical Officer of ARO Rangapahar Military Station followed by a healthy interactive session with the cadets. The second part of the event was presented by the Merchant Navy team on various jobs opportunities in Merchant Navy and also thier modes of entry, pay & allowances etc. which was followed by interaction with Cadets.
In his update, Commanding Officer of No 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC stressed upon the importance of such events to spread awareness and guide the young cadets & students to opt for a suitable career and lead a successful life. He extended gratitude to the Principal & Management of Eastern Christian college for active participation thereby making the event a grand success. He also mentioned special gratitude towards Director, ARO and the Merchant Navy team for their exhaustive information being imparted to the young minds.
