Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria Visits Bikaner, Lauds ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a Symbol of India’s Women Power

In a visit marked by emotion, patriotism, and national pride, Punjab Governor and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, arrived at Nal Air Force Station in Bikaner on Friday morning. He was received with full ceremonial honours and was accorded a Guard of Honour by the police. Prominent public representatives, senior officials, and dignitaries welcomed him with floral bouquets in a traditional Rajasthani style.
Speaking to journalists at the Circuit House in Bikaner shortly after his arrival, Governor Kataria heaped praise on the Indian Armed Forces, stating that the success of Operation Sindoor has not only demonstrated India’s tactical supremacy but also elevated the stature of Indian women in uniform.
“Operation Sindoor has shown that today’s India respects its Nari Shakti. Anyone who dares to undermine our dignity will not be spared. This is Modi and Rajnath’s India—an India that will not repeat the mistakes of 1965,” Kataria said assertively.
His comments come in the backdrop of growing recognition for the role of women officers and soldiers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, especially those who participated in Operation Sindoor—a classified cross-border operation that reportedly neutralized key threats across the western border.
Kataria further touched upon Punjab’s rising drug menace, expressing grave concern over its impact on youth. He emphasized the dual responsibility of government and society to address this crisis. “We are undertaking concrete steps through awareness drives, de-addiction campaigns, and enforcement coordination between agencies,” he stated.
Highlighting security challenges in border districts of Punjab, Kataria said,
“Six districts in Punjab share a 533 km-long border with Pakistan. Despite enemy attempts through drones and cross-border smuggling, not a single village has been fully evacuated. This shows the indomitable spirit of our border villagers who fully support the BSF and Indian Army.”
The Governor also stressed the importance of vigilance against Pakistani drone activities, noting that while several attempts have been made, none have succeeded in breaching India’s internal security. He credited Indian forces for intercepting drones and maintaining uninterrupted logistics, including food and essentials, for soldiers stationed in remote areas.
On a developmental note, Kataria also spoke about the progress in Northeast India, especially Assam, where he said “90% of development assistance is being provided by the Central Government while only 10% is from the state government.”
When asked about his future in politics, the senior leader clarified:
“I now hold a constitutional administrative position. I have dedicated my life to public service, and I will continue to do so till my last breath. This is my commitment.”
The Governor’s visit drew significant attention in Bikaner, with multiple political leaders, bureaucrats, and civil society representatives in attendance. Those present at Nal Airport to welcome him included Shri Tarachand Saraswat (MLA, Sridungargarh), Collector Smt. Namrata Vrishni, SP Shri Kavendra Singh Sagar, and several well-known local figures like Smt. Suman Chhajed, Dr. Lokesh Lalit Chaturvedi, Shri Shyam Panchariya, and many others.
The visit of Governor Kataria comes at a critical juncture when national security, women’s empowerment, and border management are dominating the strategic discourse in India. His remarks add a strong political and administrative endorsement to the narrative that India’s military operations now reflect not only strength but inclusive nationalism—where Nari Shakti is not just respected but relied upon for victory.

देशभक्ति और सम्मान की भावना से ओतप्रोत पंजाब के राज्यपाल एवं चंडीगढ़ संघ शासित प्रदेश के प्रशासक गुलाबचंद कटारिया शुक्रवार सुबह बीकानेर के नाल एयरपोर्ट पहुंचे। यहां उन्हें पुलिस द्वारा गार्ड ऑफ ऑनर दिया गया। एयरपोर्ट पर उनका भव्य स्वागत किया गया जिसमें जनप्रतिनिधियों, प्रशासनिक अधिकारियों और समाज के गणमान्य नागरिकों ने भाग लिया।
बीकानेर सर्किट हाउस में पत्रकारों से संवाद करते हुए राज्यपाल कटारिया ने कहा कि “ऑपरेशन सिंदूर” की सफलता ने यह सिद्ध कर दिया है कि भारत अब नारी शक्ति का सम्मान करना जानता है। उन्होंने स्पष्ट शब्दों में कहा:
“यह मोदी और राजनाथ का भारत है, जो 1965 जैसी गलती दोबारा नहीं करेगा। जो भी हमारी प्रतिष्ठा को चोट पहुंचाएगा, उसे बख्शा नहीं जाएगा।“
कटारिया का यह बयान ऐसे समय में आया है जब भारतीय सेना में महिला अधिकारियों की भूमिका और योगदान को देशभर में सराहा जा रहा है, खासतौर पर ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के तहत, जिसमें महिला सैन्य कर्मियों ने रणनीतिक नेतृत्व और सक्रिय भागीदारी निभाई।
राज्यपाल ने पंजाब में फैल रहे नशे के जाल पर भी चिंता जताई और कहा कि यह केवल सरकार का नहीं, बल्कि पूरे समाज का दायित्व है कि वह युवाओं को इस दलदल से बाहर निकाले। उन्होंने कहा:
“हम जनजागरूकता अभियानों, नशा मुक्ति कार्यक्रमों और एजेंसियों के बेहतर समन्वय से इस खतरे पर लगाम लगाने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।“
उन्होंने पंजाब के सीमावर्ती जिलों की स्थिति पर चर्चा करते हुए कहा:
“राज्य के छह जिले पाकिस्तान से लगते हैं, जिनकी कुल सीमा रेखा लगभग 533 किलोमीटर है। यहां ग्रामीणों ने अपनी भूमि और घर नहीं छोड़े, बल्कि बीएसएफ और सेना को पूरा सहयोग दिया।“
पाकिस्तानी ड्रोन की घुसपैठ की कोशिशों पर भी उन्होंने कहा कि भारत की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था इतनी मजबूत है कि अब कोई दुश्मन सफल नहीं हो सकता। उन्होंने बताया कि आवश्यक वस्तुओं और राशन की आपूर्ति भी निर्बाध रूप से हो रही है।
पूर्वोत्तर राज्यों में हो रहे विकास की बात करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि:
“असम में चल रही योजनाओं में 90 प्रतिशत सहयोग केंद्र सरकार और 10 प्रतिशत राज्य सरकार दे रही है, जिससे पूर्वोत्तर का चेहरा बदल रहा है।“
राजनीति में वापसी को लेकर पूछे गए सवाल पर उन्होंने स्पष्ट कहा:
“अब मैं एक संवैधानिक पद पर हूं और अंतिम सांस तक जनसेवा करता रहूंगा। यही मेरा ध्येय और मेरी प्रतिबद्धता है।“
इस अवसर पर श्रीडूंगरगढ़ विधायक श्री ताराचंद सारस्वत, जिला कलेक्टर श्रीमती नम्रता वृष्णि, पुलिस अधीक्षक श्री कावेंद्र सिंह सागर, सहित अनेक जनप्रतिनिधि, समाजसेवी और सम्मानित नागरिक मौजूद रहे। प्रमुख स्वागतकर्ताओं में श्रीमती सुमन छाजेड़, डॉ. लोकेश ललित चतुर्वेदी, श्री श्याम पंचारिया, श्री विजय आचार्य, श्री महावीर रांका, श्री गोपाल गहलोत, आदि शामिल थे।
राज्यपाल कटारिया की यह यात्रा ऐसे समय पर हुई है जब देश में सीमा सुरक्षा, महिला सशक्तिकरण और सैन्य रणनीति पर राष्ट्रव्यापी चर्चा चल रही है। उनकी टिप्पणी इस बात की पुष्टि करती है कि आज का भारत केवल ताकतवर ही नहीं, बल्कि समावेशी भी है, जहां नारी शक्ति अब केवल प्रतिनिधित्व का विषय नहीं, बल्कि विजय की निर्णायक शक्ति बन चुकी है।
