The Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, witnessed a spirited Commandant’s Parade as the Passing Out Course displayed discipline, confidence and determination despite rainy weather conditions. The showers could not dampen the enthusiasm of the Officer Cadets, who marched with pride as they prepared to take their final step towards becoming commissioned officers of the Indian Army.

The parade was reviewed by Lt Gen Nagendra Singh, AVSM, YSM, SM, Commandant, Indian Military Academy. Addressing the Officer Cadets, he complimented them for successfully enduring the Academy’s demanding training standards and for displaying the qualities expected from future leaders of the Indian Army.

The Commandant said that training at IMA is designed to test cadets physically, mentally and emotionally, preparing them for the responsibilities of military leadership. He appreciated the commitment, resilience and perseverance shown by the Passing Out Course throughout their training.

In his address, Lt Gen Nagendra Singh also described the passing out of the first batch of Women Officer Cadets from the Indian Military Academy as a historic milestone. He noted that their achievement marks an important moment in the Academy’s legacy and reflects the evolving role of women in the Indian Army.
