SAPTA SHAKTI COMMAND’S MASSIVE FLOOD RELIEF OPERATIONS IN RAJASTHAN: KOTA & BUNDI TURN TO ARMY FOR HOPE

The desert state of Rajasthan, better known for its arid lands and scorching summers, is reeling under a different fury of nature—floods triggered by relentless rainfall over the past several days. The rising waters in Kota and Bundi districts have submerged villages, crippled daily life, and left thousands stranded. Amid this crisis, the Indian Army’s Sapta Shakti Command, headquartered in Jaipur, has launched a comprehensive flood relief and rescue mission, once again proving why the Army is not just a protector of borders but also a guardian of lives in times of natural calamities.

From the early hours of Monday, Army columns moved with swiftness and determination into the worst-affected areas. The ethos of “Swift Response, Unwavering Commitment” was on display as uniformed men and women braved the rains, raging currents, and challenging terrain to reach marooned villagers.

Rescue in Nimoda Hariji: A Major Operation

One of the standout operations took place in Nimoda Hariji village of Digod Tehsil, Kota, where water had trapped over 200 villagers. Many of them were women, children, and elderly residents who had been waiting desperately for help. Army boats, ropes, and inflatable rescue equipment were deployed with precision. After hours of tireless efforts, every single villager was evacuated to higher ground. Relief camps were immediately set up, and food packets, potable water, and medicines were distributed.

This operation was not merely about physical rescue; it became a source of immense psychological comfort for the community. For families that had lost homes and livelihoods to the swollen rivers, the sight of Army personnel standing by them was reassurance that they were not alone in their struggle.

Relentless Efforts Amid Adverse Conditions

Heavy rainfall has continued unabated, often making ground movement extremely risky. But Army troops, trained for high-risk situations, continued to operate round-the-clock. Floodwaters breached low-lying roads, electricity supply remained disrupted, and communication lines were partially affected, yet the relief columns kept pushing forward. Villagers reported that the Army teams arrived before many other agencies, reflecting the preparedness and agility of Sapta Shakti Command in responding to crises.

Relief Expands to Bundi District

As the crisis deepened, the Army widened its mission to cover Nainwa, Keshoraipatan, and Badi Dhandla in Bundi district. Here too, several villages faced inundation, crops were washed away, and livestock perished. By extending its footprint, Sapta Shakti Command ensured that no pocket of distress went unnoticed. Teams carried with them not just supplies but also medical specialists who attended to the sick, elderly, and children exposed to waterborne diseases.

The civil administration has acknowledged the crucial support extended by the Army. District officials in both Kota and Bundi highlighted that without the logistical strength and manpower provided by the military, the scale of rescue operations would have been severely constrained.

Army as a Pillar of Hope

In times of natural disasters, when civilian machinery often struggles with resources, the Army’s presence transforms despair into hope. Sapta Shakti Command’s motto, “Delivering Hope, Saving Lives,” is not a slogan but a reality that Rajasthan has witnessed repeatedly—whether during desert floods, COVID-19 pandemic, or drought relief missions in the past.

For the villagers of Kota and Bundi, this mission has become a lifeline. From carrying children on their shoulders to calming elderly women, soldiers once again emerged as symbols of strength and compassion.

रेगिस्तानी राजस्थान इन दिनों बारिश और बाढ़ की आपदा से जूझ रहा है। कोटा और बूंदी जिलों में लगातार हो रही भारी बारिश ने हालात गंभीर बना दिए हैं। निचले इलाकों में पानी भर गया, कई गाँव डूब गए और हज़ारों लोग फँसकर मदद की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं। ऐसे कठिन समय में भारतीय सेना की सप्त शक्ति कमान ने मानवीय संवेदनशीलता और सैन्य तत्परता का परिचय देते हुए बड़े स्तर पर राहत और बचाव अभियान शुरू किया है।

निमोड़ा हरिजी गाँव में बड़ा अभियान

कोटा जिले की दीगोद तहसील के निमोड़ा हरिजी गाँव में सेना ने एक बड़ा और साहसिक अभियान चलाया। यहाँ बाढ़ के पानी में घिरे 200 से अधिक ग्रामीणों को सुरक्षित निकाला गया। इनमें महिलाएँ, बच्चे और बुजुर्ग शामिल थे। सेना ने बोट, रस्सियों और अन्य उपकरणों की मदद से सभी को सुरक्षित ऊँचे स्थानों तक पहुँचाया। राहत शिविरों में प्रभावित परिवारों को खाद्य सामग्री, पीने का पानी और दवाइयाँ उपलब्ध कराई गईं।

यह राहत केवल शारीरिक बचाव नहीं था, बल्कि टूटे हुए मनोबल को पुनर्जीवित करने का काम भी था। ग्रामीणों के लिए सेना का पहुँचना जीवनदान से कम नहीं था।

विपरीत परिस्थितियों में चौबीसों घंटे प्रयास

भारी बारिश और लगातार जलभराव ने ज़मीनी रास्तों को अवरुद्ध कर दिया। बिजली सप्लाई और संचार भी बाधित हुए, लेकिन सेना की टीमें रुकने वाली नहीं थीं। चौबीसों घंटे अभियान चलाते हुए उन्होंने दिखा दिया कि सेना सिर्फ सीमा की सुरक्षा तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि हर नागरिक के जीवन की रक्षा उसका कर्तव्य है।

बूंदी जिले में भी राहत का विस्तार

सेना ने राहत कार्यों का दायरा बढ़ाकर नैणवां, केशवरायपाटन और बड़ी धांधला के इलाकों में भी टीमें भेजीं। यहाँ भी कई गाँव जलमग्न हो गए थे। सेना की मेडिकल टीमें ग्रामीणों को स्वास्थ्य सेवाएँ प्रदान कर रही हैं, जबकि राहत दल परिवारों को सुरक्षित स्थानों तक पहुँचा रहे हैं।

जिला प्रशासन ने स्पष्ट शब्दों में स्वीकार किया है कि सेना की समय पर मदद से राहत कार्यों की गति और दायरा बढ़ा है।

सेना बनी आशा की किरण

संकट की इस घड़ी में जब नागरिक तंत्र अपनी सीमाओं से जूझता है, भारतीय सेना एक मज़बूत स्तंभ बनकर खड़ी हो जाती है। सप्त शक्ति कमान का मूलमंत्र “Delivering Hope, Saving Lives” अब केवल नारा नहीं बल्कि राजस्थान की हकीकत बन गया है।

कोटा और बूंदी के बाढ़ग्रस्त ग्रामीणों के लिए सैनिकों का यह अभियान जीवन का सहारा बन गया है—कंधे पर बच्चों को उठाना हो या बुजुर्गों को सहारा देना, सेना हर मोर्चे पर मानवता की मिसाल पेश कर रही है।
