The Garhwal Rifles Marching Contingent Secures Coveted Title at Army Day Parade 2024

The Garhwal Rifles’ marching contingent has been declared the Best Marching Contingent at the prestigious Army Day Parade 2024, held in Lucknow. This remarkable achievement comes after an impressive display of precision, discipline, and excellence.
The distinguished contingent comprised of the best personnel in drill from various units of the Regiment, led by Lieutenant Utkarsh Bandhu Sharma and Lieutenant Dushyant Singh Shekhawat.
Preparations for this grand victory began on December 15, 2023, with the contingent undergoing rigorous training under the able guidance of drill instructors from the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre (GRRC). The meticulous efforts and dedication of all involved have culminated in a performance that has set a new standard for excellence.
Brigadier VM Chaudhari, Commandant of GRRC, and Colonel PS Joshi, Training Battalion Commander at the Centre, played pivotal roles in selecting and refining the best personnel from our Regiment. Their strategic approach ensured that the contingent was not only well-prepared but also showcased an exceptional level of coordination and skill during the parade.
The last time The Garhwal Rifles Regiment secured the title of the Best Marching Contingent was nearly 13 years ago, making this recent achievement all the more significant. The Regiment takes immense pride in this accomplishment, reflecting the dedication and professionalism of its personnel.
