Tree Plantation Drive “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Held: Children Promote Environmental Conservation
Bikaner: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” a successful tree plantation program was organized at Flourish International School, Bikaner. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation while fostering a sense of respect and connection between mothers and nature.
Students actively participated in the program by planting saplings dedicated to their mothers. The school’s Director, Rahul Yadav, in his address, stated, “This initiative is not only a significant step towards environmental preservation but also an opportunity for children to understand the importance of nature and family.”
Program coordinator Akanksha Rautela, while addressing the students and parents, said, “Planting a sapling symbolizes a new beginning. It’s not just for the environment but a gift for future generations.”
The event commenced with a Vedic chant followed by an inspiring presentation highlighting the importance of environmental conservation. Groups of students planted saplings in and around the school premises, taking a pledge to nurture them. Each sapling was dedicated to the students’ mothers, symbolizing their love and respect for their parents.
The students also took an oath to protect the environment and were encouraged to take responsibility for the growth of the saplings. Rahul Yadav emphasized that the initiative was designed to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment among students. He remarked, “Every plant gives us life, and it is our duty to protect it.”
Akanksha Rautela added, “This program is not just an opportunity to fulfill our responsibility towards the environment but also a new way to celebrate Mother’s Day. Connecting saplings to the concept of ‘mother’ fosters an emotional bond among children.”
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers, parents, students, and local social workers. Over 200 saplings, including fruit-bearing, flowering, and shade-providing trees, were planted during the program.
Overall, the initiative was a resounding success, spreading the message of environmental preservation and strengthening familial bonds through a meaningful and impactful activity.
