Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena Reviews INS Valsura, Commends Training Excellence
Southern Naval Command chief stresses adoption of emerging technologies amid evolving maritime challenges.

Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, visited INS Valsura on May 5, 2026, to review its operational and training standards.
During the visit, the Flag Officer witnessed a ceremonial parade and reviewed key infrastructure at the establishment, which is a premier training centre of the Indian Navy for electrical and technical specialisations.

Vice Adm Saxena commended the personnel for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining high standards of technical training. He appreciated the unit’s consistent focus on excellence in preparing skilled naval personnel.

He also emphasised the importance of adopting contemporary and future technologies to keep pace with the evolving maritime domain and emerging operational challenges.

The visit reaffirmed the Indian Navy’s focus on strengthening training institutions and enhancing technical capabilities to support modern naval operations.
