Bikaner, India – The final rites of Ram Swaroop Kaswan, a soldier stationed in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, were conducted with full military honors at the Panchayat Samiti office near Nathusar Road. Tragically, Ram Swaroop lost his life due to a gunshot wound.
On the night of September 25, his body was placed in the army area in Bikaner, drawing the attention of family members and supporters who gathered to demand justice. They staged a protest at the Captain Chandra Chaudhary Memorial site and blocked the Mueum Circle, voicing their concerns for four consecutive days.
The situation escalated when Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal arrived in Bikaner on Saturday night, prompting discussions between the administration and protesters, which yielded no results. However, following collaborative efforts between the army and local administration, Collector Namrata Vrishni and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) engaged in talks that led to an agreement to provide a gun salute and military honors during the final rites. This breakthrough allowed the family to lift their protest, and the body was taken to Panchu for cremation.
The cremation took place later that evening, with military honors. Prior to the ceremony, the body was taken to the family’s dwelling for last rites. Notable attendees at the funeral included Nokha MLA Sushila Dudi, former minister Govindram Meghwal, Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal, district head Modaram Meghwal, and various dignitaries along with local administrative officials including District Collector Namrata Vrishni, Range IG Om Prakash, SP Kaveendra Sagar, ADM City Ramesh Dev, and ASPs Pyarelal Shivar and Ramesh Dev, among others.
The community came together to honor Ram Swaroop’s sacrifice, reflecting on the dedication and bravery of soldiers serving the nation. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the armed forces and the grief felt by families left behind.
