Lieutenant General Sadhna Saxena Nair, Vishisht Seva Medal, DGMS (Army) visited Military Hospital Dehradun on 27 Sep 2024.

During the visit of DGMS (Army) to MH Dehradun, the general officer reviewed the overall functioning of the hospital, evaluated the quality of medical services and witnessed the excellent work being carried out in various departments of the Military Hospital. The visit also boosted the morale of the troops and support staff of MH Dehradun.

During the visit, DGMS (Army) inaugurated the newly established Early Intervention Centre (EIC), a critical initiative that aims to provide timely medical care to children with developmental delays and special needs. This facility is expected to enhance the hospital’s capability to offer specialized care and support to families and children requiring early medical attention.

The General Officer also reviewed the hospital’s key departments, including Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology/Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Emergency and Critical Care services and commended the staff for their dedication and professional conduct. The inspection focused on the hospital’s preparedness, standards of care while treating both the serving as well as the veteran clientele, adherence to soft skills and medical protocols.

The General Officer was commissioned into the Army Medical Corps on 26 Dec 1985 from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. She is the first woman officer to hold the prestigious appointment of DGMS (Army). She has also held numerous distinguish appointments during her illustrious carrier of 38 years. She is also recipients of numerous prestigious awards and was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal by the Hon’ble President of India in 2013.

This visit underscores the Army Medical Corps’ commitment to providing top-notch healthcare to personnel and their families, while constantly upgrading facilities to meet modern healthcare standards.
