Mystery of the Sensational Manisha Blind Murder Case Solved: Accused Arrested

The mystery of the famous Manisha blind murder case is solved: the accused is arrested

Bikaner: The Bikaner police have finally solved the mystery of the brutal murder case that took place in the Mukta Prasad police station area. In this shocking incident, an unknown assailant entered a house, murdered a woman, and attempted to burn her body. After an extensive investigation, the police arrested the prime accused, Gopal Kumhar, while another woman, Suman, has been taken into police custody for her involvement in the crime.

The motive behind the murder was the accused’s fear of his illicit relationship being exposed. Before executing the crime, the accused watched several web series and crime episodes to plan the act.

Murder and Investigation Begins

On March 7, 2025, the victim’s husband, Mangilal, reported the incident to the Mukta Prasad police station. According to his complaint, when he returned home around 12:30 PM, he was shocked to find his wife Manisha’s half-burnt body inside their house. The back door was open, indicating forced entry. It was evident that an unidentified individual had broken into their home, murdered his wife, and tried to destroy the evidence by burning the body.

Given the gruesome nature of the crime, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kavendra Singh Sagar immediately formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and assigned multiple teams to work on the case.

How the Police Cracked the Case

Under the guidance of Bikaner Range Inspector General (IG) Omprakash Paswan, SP Kavendra Singh Sagar and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Saurabh Tiwari inspected the crime scene. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts and a dog squad were also called in to collect technical evidence.

Since it was a brutal blind murder case, ASP Saurabh Tiwari led the SIT, which included officers such as Shravandas Sant (Deputy SP, City), Subhash Godara (RPS), Dhirendra Singh (SHO, Mukta Prasad), Vikram Tiwari (SHO, Nayashahar), Jasveer Kumar (SHO, Kotwali), Renubala (SHO, Mukta Prasad), and Deepak Yadav (Cyber Cell Incharge).

Step-by-Step Investigation

The police took several systematic steps to identify the murderer:

  • Analyzed 200+ CCTV footages from surrounding areas.
  • Questioned over 300 people in a door-to-door survey.
  • Monitored nearby routes for seven consecutive days, gathering information from 500 commuters.
  • Interrogated past offenders and criminals involved in similar crimes.
  • Used mobile data analysis and technical evidence to link the clues and trace the accused.

Accused Confesses to the Crime

During police interrogation, the accused Gopal Kumhar confessed to the murder. He revealed that he had been in a secret affair with Suman, who was both the victim’s sister-in-law and cousin for over a year. When Manisha discovered the affair, she strongly opposed it. Fearing exposure, Gopal and Suman conspired to kill her.

Gopal also admitted that before committing the crime, he watched multiple crime web series and episodes to carefully plan the execution.

How the Murder was Committed

Two days before the crime, Gopal conducted a recce of Manisha’s house with Suman. On March 7, 2025, he entered the house under the pretense of doing some work and had tea with Manisha. While she was busy with household chores, he attacked her with a heavy object, causing fatal head injuries.

To destroy evidence, he poured a flammable substance on Manisha’s body and set it on fire before fleeing the scene. In a shocking twist, Gopal even attended the protest outside PBM Hospital’s mortuary the next day, pretending to demand justice for the victim.
