Pakistani Woman Caught Infiltrating India-Pakistan Border, Says ‘I Will Be Killed If I Return’

Anupgarh, Rajasthan. A shocking incident unfolded at the India-Pakistan international border in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar district, where the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel apprehended a Pakistani woman attempting to cross into India illegally. The incident took place near the Vijeta Border Post in Anupgarh early Monday morning when the woman was found crossing the fenced border. BSF officials detained her as soon as she entered 50 meters inside Indian territory.

The Woman Seeks Asylum in India

The arrested woman has been identified as Humaira (32), a resident of Daghari Khan village in Kech district, Balochistan, Pakistan. During initial interrogation, she claimed that she was a victim of domestic violence and abuse at the hands of her husband, Wasim. She further alleged that she faced threats to her life and that returning to Pakistan would result in her being killed. Seeking refuge, she has requested asylum in India.

Mobile Phone and Gold Ornaments Recovered

Upon searching the woman, BSF recovered a mobile phone, a gold nose ring, earrings, and a gold bangle. The presence of a mobile phone has raised security concerns, prompting authorities to investigate how she obtained it and whether there are any suspicious links associated with it.

BSF Acted Immediately

According to BSF sources, the woman was spotted crossing the border fencing at around 6:55 AM while on routine patrol. Within moments of her entering the Indian side, BSF personnel stationed at Vijeta Border Post intercepted and detained her.

During questioning, the woman revealed that her parents were originally from Karachi, but she lived with her husband in Balochistan. She stated that her life in Pakistan had become unbearable due to continuous abuse and threats, which forced her to flee to India.

Security Agencies Investigate the Matter

Taking the matter seriously, BSF immediately informed intelligence agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Crime Investigation Department (CID), and local police. Currently, security agencies are questioning the woman to ascertain the real motive behind her infiltration.

DSP Prashant Kaushik, who is leading the investigation, stated that the woman’s claims are being verified, and authorities are trying to determine whether she has any links to suspicious organizations. So far, the woman has not been handed over to the police and remains in BSF custody.

Heightened Security at the Border

Following the incident, security measures at the India-Pakistan border have been intensified. BSF has increased surveillance along the border to prevent any further infiltration attempts. Officials are keeping a close watch on any unusual movements.

Authorities have stated that a thorough investigation is underway to verify the authenticity of Humaira’s asylum request. If her claims are found to be genuine, further legal proceedings will be initiated in consultation with higher authorities. Meanwhile, security agencies continue their detailed probe into the circumstances surrounding her border crossing.
