Deadly Blast Rocks Islamabad Court Complex: Conflicting Reports Emerge Over Cause as At Least 10 Killed

A powerful explosion ripped through the premises of a local court in Islamabad on Monday morning, triggering panic, chaos, and confusion across Pakistan’s capital. Eyewitnesses described scenes of devastation as rescue teams rushed to the site amid heavy security deployment.
Initial reports from Pakistani media suggested that the explosion occurred inside the court complex located in the Sector F-8 area, one of Islamabad’s busiest judicial zones. Within minutes, local TV channels aired visuals showing mangled vehicles, shattered glass windows, and civilians being carried away by paramedics.
Pakistani Authorities Claim “Gas Cylinder Blast,” Eyewitnesses Disagree
Within an hour of the incident, several Pakistani news outlets — including Geo News and ARY News — attributed the blast to a gas cylinder explosion in a nearby canteen area. However, multiple eyewitnesses and independent journalists raised doubts, stating that the magnitude and impact of the explosion were far greater than a typical domestic cylinder blast.
According to early police assessments, at least 10 civilians were killed and over a dozen injured, many of them court staff and lawyers. Unverified video clips circulating on social media showed bodies lying near the courthouse entrance, with debris scattered across the compound.
Security officials from the Islamabad Police Bomb Disposal Unit and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) cordoned off the site, while rescue operations continued for several hours.

पुलिस सूत्रों ने बताया कि कम से कम 10 नागरिकों की मौत हो चुकी है, जबकि दर्जनों घायल हैं — जिनमें वकील, कर्मचारी और राहगीर शामिल हैं।
सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल वीडियो में खून से लथपथ शव, बिखरी हुई फाइलें और अदालत के दरवाज़े पर जले हुए वाहन दिखाई दे रहे हैं।
राजधानी में बढ़ाई गई सुरक्षा, जांच जारी
धमाके के तुरंत बाद इस्लामाबाद पुलिस ने आसपास के इलाकों को सील कर दिया और बम निरोधक दस्ते के साथ सघन तलाशी अभियान शुरू किया।
सुरक्षा एजेंसियों ने बताया कि उन्हें पहले से ही आतंकी संगठनों द्वारा न्यायिक संस्थानों को निशाना बनाए जाने की सूचना थी।
