Spring Term 2025: Glorious Passing Out Parade Held at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala

A resplendent display of discipline, valour, and future leadership marked the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the Spring Term 2025 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, held on May 31, 2025. A total of 186 naval trainees, including midshipmen and cadets from various naval orientation courses, formally graduated, heralding their entry into the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard as commissioned officers.
The parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, who lauded the high standards of turnout, drill, and bearing displayed by the young officers. The ceremonial event was graced by Vice Admiral CR Praveen Nair, Commandant INA, senior officers, distinguished guests, and proud family members of the graduating cadets.
Cadets from Across India and Beyond
The graduating batch comprised Midshipmen from the 107th and 108th Indian Naval Academy B. Tech Courses, cadets from the 38th and 39th Naval Orientation Course (Extended), the 40th Naval Orientation Course (Regular), and the 41st NOC (Coast Guard). Significantly, the course also included cadets from four friendly foreign nations, showcasing India’s growing maritime diplomacy and international training cooperation.
Honouring Excellence: Medals and Trophies
In a proud moment, Midshipman Nakul Saxena was awarded the President’s Gold Medal for securing the top position in the Indian Naval Academy B. Tech Course.
Highlighting India’s inclusive training culture, Midshipman Kiondo Michael Florence from Tanzania received the prestigious Raksha Rajya Mantri Trophy for the Most Promising Cadet, underscoring the INA’s role in strengthening global defence partnerships.
Additional honours included:
- FOC-in-C (South) Trophy to Midshipman Nithin S Nair for top merit among ex-NDA cadets
- CNS Gold Medal for Naval Orientation Course (Extended) to Cadet Pawar Rohit Prakash
- CNS Gold Medal for Naval Orientation Course (Regular) to Cadet Rajnish Singh
- Director General Coast Guard Trophy to Cadet Kommu David
In an equally proud moment, the Commandant’s Champion Squadron Banner was awarded to Cheetah Squadron for its outstanding performance across academics, physical training, sports, drill, and extracurricular activities during the term.
Strengthening India’s Blue-Water Aspirations
Addressing the gathering, FOC-in-C Southern Naval Command praised the cadets’ discipline and their readiness to shoulder the responsibilities of leadership in the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. He acknowledged the rigorous efforts of the training faculty and the invaluable role played by the families in nurturing future warriors of the seas.
He further emphasised the strategic importance of India’s commitment to training foreign cadets, calling it a symbol of naval diplomacy, cooperation, and India’s growing role as a net security provider in the Indo-Pacific.
Following the parade, the dignitaries shipped the stripes on the shoulders of the newly commissioned officers — a moment of pride and honour witnessed by their beaming families. The freshly passed-out officers will now report to various Naval training establishments and frontline warships to begin the next phase of their professional journey — in specialised, operational, and combat domains.
This ceremonial milestone not only celebrates their completion of ab-initio military and academic training, but also affirms their pledge to serve the nation with honour, courage, and commitment.

इंडियन नेवल अकादमी (INA), एझिमाला में स्प्रिंग टर्म 2025 की पासिंग आउट परेड (POP) का आयोजन एक शानदार सैन्य परंपरा और राष्ट्र सेवा के संकल्प के साथ संपन्न हुआ। इस समारोह में 186 प्रशिक्षु – जिनमें मिडशिपमेन और नेवल ओरिएंटेशन कोर्स (NOC) के कैडेट शामिल थे – ने अपना प्रारंभिक सैन्य प्रशिक्षण सफलतापूर्वक पूरा कर भारतीय नौसेना व भारतीय तटरक्षक बल में कदम रखा।
परेड की समीक्षा उत्तरी नौसेना कमान के फ्लैग ऑफिसर कमांडिंग-इन-चीफ, वाइस एडमिरल वी श्रीनिवास ने की। कार्यक्रम में INA के कमांडेंट वाइस एडमिरल सीआर प्रवीण नायर, अन्य वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारी, गणमान्य अतिथि और कैडेट्स के गर्वित परिजन उपस्थित रहे।
भारत ही नहीं, विश्व के भी भविष्य के नेवी लीडर
पास आउट होने वाले कैडेट्स में 107वीं और 108वीं INA बी.टेक कोर्स, 38वीं व 39वीं NOC (Extended), 40वीं NOC (Regular) और 41वीं NOC (Coast Guard) के प्रशिक्षु शामिल थे। इनमें चार मित्र देशों के विदेशी कैडेट्स भी सम्मिलित थे, जो भारत के रक्षा सहयोग और नौसैनिक प्रशिक्षण की वैश्विक भूमिका को दर्शाता है।
पुरस्कार और पदक: उत्कृष्टता को सलाम
मिडशिपमेन नकुल सक्सेना को INA बी.टेक कोर्स में सर्वोच्च स्थान प्राप्त करने पर राष्ट्रपति स्वर्ण पदक प्रदान किया गया।
तंजानिया के कैडेट मिडशिपमेन कियोन्डो माइकल फ्लोरेंस को राज्य रक्षा मंत्री ट्रॉफी से सम्मानित किया गया, जो भारतीय नौसेना अकादमी के समावेशी और वैश्विक प्रशिक्षण संस्कृति को प्रमाणित करता है।

चीता स्क्वाड्रन को कमांडेंट्स चैंपियन स्क्वाड्रन बैनर से सम्मानित किया गया, जिसने प्रशिक्षण के सभी क्षेत्रों – शिक्षा, शारीरिक दक्षता, ड्रिल, खेल और सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन किया।
मजबूत हो रहा भारत का समुद्री नेतृत्व
समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए, वाइस एडमिरल वी श्रीनिवास ने कैडेट्स की सैन्य सजगता, अनुशासन और परेड में उत्कृष्टता की सराहना की। उन्होंने प्रशिक्षण स्टाफ के प्रयासों और माता-पिता के योगदान को भी धन्यवाद दिया। विदेशी कैडेट्स की भागीदारी पर उन्होंने कहा कि यह भारत की समुद्री कूटनीति और इंडो-पैसिफिक में उसकी अग्रणी भूमिका का परिचायक है।
परेड के पश्चात सभी अधिकारियों को रैंक स्ट्राइप्स पहनाए गए, और उनके परिजनों ने गौरवपूर्ण क्षणों का साक्षी बनते हुए गर्व और उल्लास के साथ भावुक दृश्य प्रस्तुत किया।
अब ये नव नियुक्त अधिकारी भारतीय नौसेना के प्रशिक्षण प्रतिष्ठानों और युद्धपोतों पर तैनात होंगे, जहां वे अपने चुने हुए विशेषज्ञ क्षेत्रों में आगे का प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त करेंगे और राष्ट्र सेवा का व्रत निभाएंगे।
